Science and music have always been my passion. Both bring a sense of challenge and need for practice. My Bachelor's degree is in Biology, while my Master's degree is in Medical Science. After earning my degrees in healthcare, I decided to pursue a career in clinical research. I found the best parts of my job were problem solving, data analysis, and creating tools like Excel CRMs and tracking systems. After a year in clinical research, I decided to begin learning programming.

After some self study, I decided to enroll in a coding bootcamp, where I learned all the skills for successful web development. After graduation, I began working as a front end developer for Greek Chapter, designing their application from scratch and adding geolocation features, such as the ability to create and edit study location radiuses.

I am now working as a developer with DashProphet, a data analysis program focused on creating useful and easy to understand data visualizations.

When I'm not at the computer, I'm usually playing piano and guitar, hanging out with my wife and dog, or playing video games. I'm always looking for new challenges and opportunities to learn and grow.

Developer Intern · DashProphet

As a developer intern at DashProphet, I have worked on a variet of projects, on both the front end and back end of the application. I am also working with data analysts to write python scripts for data processing. I'm also working on my AWS Cloud Practitioner certification to further contribute to the team.

Front End Developer · Greek Chapter

Greek Chapter is a startup that aims to provide a platform for fraternities and sororities to manage their chapters. I built their entire UI, from Figma to implementation. I also built out a few features for them, including creating a page to add and manage study locations and a page to manage house memeber points.

Software Engineering Fellow · Parsity

As a Parsity fellow, I learned valuable skills in web development, including React, NextJS, TypeScript, Node, Express, MongoDB, and more. I also learned about software engineering principles and practices, such as version control, testing, and deployment. I worked on a team project to build a full stack application for managing planning trips which connected to an API that showed users things to do in the area of their destination.

My first real world project, Gent's Classic Cuts is a brochure website for a local barbershop. It showcases my skills in the core technologies of web development: JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. No frameworks or libraries, just plain code.

WordPress

Fetching Looks was my second real world project. To show my ability to learn new technologies, I built this site on WordPress, which I had not used in the past. The goal was to create a new, user friendly site and theme while optimizing it for mobile devices.

APIs

I built here a weather app that connects directly to OpenWeatherAPI to fetch current weatcher data and display it in a user friendly way. I also used Google's GeolocationAPI to get the user's current location.

This is a simple product list app that puts together all the languages I learned during my fellowship at Parsity, creating a my first full stack project. I created my own API and connected it to the front end of the application. I also created multiple filters and sorting options for the user to interact with.
